What PPWR Requires

PPWR's headline target is clear: from 2030, all packaging placed on the EU market must be recyclable. Beyond recyclability, the regulation pushes brands to minimise packaging weight and layers, increase the use of recycled content, and move towards reusable or refill formats where possible. For detergent brands that have long relied on heavy HDPE bottles - typically 1–2 kg of rigid plastic per laundry bottle - this is a structural redesign challenge.
